CP Felix Ohagwu Seeks Olugbo’s Support, Receives Royal Blessing in Fight Against Crime

Newslens NG reports that the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Felix Ohagwu, has sought the support of the traditional institution in strengthening the fight against crime and criminality across the state.

Ohagwu made the appeal on August 30, 2026, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Frederick Enitolorunda Obateru Akinruntan.

The visit, according to the Commissioner of Police, formed part of ongoing engagements by the Ondo State Police Command with critical stakeholders and traditional institutions aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhancing security across the state.

The Olugbo commended the efforts of the Ondo State Police Command in tackling crime, particularly praising the Command’s proactive approach to addressing criminal activities.

Oba Akinruntan also expressed appreciation to the Commissioner of Police for the visit and pledged the support of the traditional institution towards efforts to maintain peace and security in Ondo State.

The monarch, however, urged the police boss to sustain and intensify efforts aimed at tackling crime and criminality in all parts of the state.

During the visit, the Olugbo gave CP Ohagwu a brief historical background of the Ugbo Kingdom and assured him that the palace was ready to support the police whenever the need arose.

He urged the Commissioner of Police to feel free to call on the traditional institution for assistance, stressing that the palace would remain open and ready to provide necessary support to the police in the collective effort to promote peace, security and development.

In a further demonstration of his support, the monarch, alongside palace chiefs, offered royal prayers and blessings for CP Ohagwu, wishing him wisdom, strength and success in the discharge of his responsibilities as Commissioner of Police in Ondo State.

The engagement is expected to further strengthen collaboration between the police, traditional institutions and other stakeholders in the collective effort to improve security and ensure the safety of residents across Ondo State.
