This is the highlight of the courtesy visitation of DBard Creative Media, the organizer of the Heroism of Erelú Ota.

The initiator of the project, Waliu Adeyeri, along with his team members, including Lanre Kosoko, the stage manager, Odutola Oreoluwa, the lead actor of the play, and other members, visited the palace of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu to express gratitude to His Highness, for identifying with the debut performance of the play on May 1, 2023. The team also communicated plans to re-stage the play during the 32nd Ikorodu Oga Festival.

“I and my team have come to pay homage to Your Majesty for the royal support we enjoyed during our first performance of the play, The Heroism of Erelú Ota, on May 1, 2023. We have come to officially communicate that we have been confirmed to re-stage the play on Thursday, November 16, 2023, as part of the activities lined up for this year’s edition of the Ikorodu Oga Festival,” the team lead, Waliu, explained.

“Also, we have come to seek your royal identification and endorsement of this project. Knowing that Your Highness’ has a penchant for supporting initiatives that seek to promote our cultural and historical heritages, we believe that your involvement with this project will give it more credibility and acceptability,” Waliu added.

The Ayangbure of Ikorodu appreciates the initiator of the project and encourages him and his team to remain committed.

“Incontrovertibly, our kingdom has over the years received low to no recognition in several areas, especially our culture and tourism. My cabinet had taken some bold steps to gather information about our historical heritage, document it, and present it to the state government through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture. This stage play, The Heroism of Erelú Ota, is a testament to the fact that we have myriads of untold stories that the world needs to know, and I will support you.”
