Viral Video of Ebonyi Pupils Singing Pro-Tinubu Song Sparks Controversy (Watch)

A viral video showing nursery and primary school pupils in Ebonyi State singing the popular pro-President Bola Tinubu song, “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand,” has generated controversy and mixed reactions on social media.

The video, which has been widely circulated online, shows the children singing in what appears to be a school environment while references are also made to the member representing the Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency, Nkemkanma Kama.

Social media posts accompanying the footage alleged that the pupils were made to sing the political song during an outreach or programme involving the lawmaker, with claims that exercise books and pencils were distributed to the children.

A version of the video shared online was captioned that the pupils were allegedly compelled to sing the song in exchange for a 40-leaves exercise book and a pencil. However, the specific claim that the children were compelled to participate could not be independently verified.

The video has since generated controversy, with critics questioning whether young schoolchildren should be involved in activities perceived as political promotion.

While some social media users described the development as inappropriate, particularly in an educational environment, others argued that the circumstances surrounding the video should be properly established before conclusions are drawn.

Nkemkanma Kama represents the Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency, also known as the OHANIVO Federal Constituency, in Ebonyi State. Public reports have identified him as the constituency’s representative in the House of Representatives.

The viral footage was also shared by online platforms with captions identifying the children as Ebonyi school pupils singing “Tinubu, On Your Mandate We Shall Stand” while promoting the OHANIVO federal lawmaker.
