Tragedy As Train Crushes Man To Death In Lagos

Newslens NG reports that an unidentified man was struck by a moving train while walking along railway track in Mushin area of Lagos State at about 6pm on Monday.

 

The incident was confirmed by The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA)  in a statement issued on the same day, indicating that the man was discovered deceased on the tracks after being struck by a train.

Confirming the attack, the agency’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, reported that LASEMA responded to an emergency call concerning a train accident near Cappa in Lagos at approximately 18:00 hours.

He said: “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an adult male, walking along the railway track, was found dead after being hit by an oncoming train.

“Further investigations conducted revealed that the yet-to-be-identified, half-dressed adult male died immediately on the railway tracks due to the impact of the collision.

“Remains of the adult male have been bagged by the agency’s response team, while awaiting the arrival of the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) officials for onward movement to the morgue.”
