Michael Jackson claims top spot As Forbes Releases 2023 Highest-paid Dead Celebrity (Full List)

Newslens Nigeria reports that late American singer, Michael Jackson who is well known as King of Pop emerged as the world’s number one highest paid dead celebrity in 2023 annual list released by Forbes magazine’s 2023 released on Tuesday.

This Nigeria news platform gathered that Jackson’s earning was estimated at $115 million. This marks the first time in four years that Jackson has claimed the top spot.

Following closely behind is Elvis Presley, Jackson’s late father-in-law, who secured second place with an estimated $100 million in earnings. Notably, other deceased celebrities such as Bob Marley, Prince, John Lennon, and Whitney Houston also made it to the top 13 list, collectively amassing approximately $470 million in earnings over the past year.

It is worth mentioning that this figure reflects a significant 70% decrease compared to 2022.

The late singers were ranked based on their pretax earnings from sales, licensing deals, streams and other sources of income between October 1, 2022, and September 30, 2023.
