During the special broadcast, the 50-year-old trailblazer will open up about her decades-long media career, her ongoing humanitarian efforts across the continent, and her deeply personal transition into single motherhood.

After early career roles at the BBC and Sky News, Sesay joined CNN in 2005. The Trinity College Cambridge graduate went on to host CNN’s International Desk in 2009, where she interviewed key global leaders, including former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and the late President Umaru Yar’Adua.

Audiences will remember her as a core part of Anderson Cooper 360°, where she anchored the 360 Bulletin beginning in 2011, before moving on to lead CNN NewsCenter.

Beyond the newsroom, Sesay founded Women Everywhere Can Lead (W.E. Can Lead) in 2014. The non-profit organization focused on educating and mentoring young African girls to step into leadership roles.
