APC REQUESTS NEW DATE TO APPEAR AT TOWN HALL SERIES “THE CANDIDATES”

The All Progressives Congress has asked for the postponement of their appearance on The Candidates to a future date.

The team responsible for the Candidates is discussing the request by the APC and has made adjustments to today’s outing to ensure the series continues to meet its objective, which is to enable engagements that help Nigerians make informed choices at the next election.

Tonight, a high level conversation will seek to chart a way forward for Nigeria by looking at the issues that have come up during the town halls and ongoing campaigns, and also by hearing directly from Nigerians who have been participating from the 6 remote locations situated in Universities of Abuja, Ibadan, Maiduguri as well as Coal City University Enugu, Bayero University Kano and Yenagoa in Bayelsa State. The panel will feature Mrs. Toun Sonaiya (CEO Women Radio 91.7FM), Dr. Kabir Adamu (Security Expert, CEO Beacon Consulting), Gbemisola Alonge (Economist and Senior Analyst at Stears) and Abdullahi Mohammed (Author of “Face of Poverty”, a Report by the Yusufu Bala Usman Institute).

‘The Candidates’ presidential town hall series, which is an original Daria Media concept, is supported by the MacArthur Foundation, launched on the 17th of November, 2022 going out live on NTA, FRCN, Radio Now, DSTV, Silverbird, Youtube, Facebook and more.

Yesterday, presidential hopeful Abdul-Lateef Kolawole Abiola and his running mate Haro Haruna Zego of the Peoples Redemption Party, joined the esteemed line up.

Mr. Omoyele Stephen Sowore and his running mate, Barrister Haruna Garba Magashi, of the African Action Congress Party on the 18th of November, 2022

Sen. Rabiu Musa Nwankwaso and hisrunning mate, Bishop Isaac Idahosa, of the New Nigeria Peoples Party on the 19th of November, 2022

Mr. Peter Obi (CON) and his running mate, Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, of the Labour Party on the 21st of November 2022

The Candidates is in partnership with Zikoko Citizen who are distilling the conversation for the young, social media engaged audience.

The Candidates is also broadcast across Nigeria on many platforms: live on NTA, and over 30 FRCN radio stations, Radio Now, Trust TV, Kaftan TV, Silverbird Television, News Central TV, Plus TV, Njenje Media as well as streamed online on YouTube and social media platforms to enable Nigerians in the diaspora to participate.
