Veteran Nollywood Actor Ogogo Battling Stage 4 Cancer, Children Cry Out for Help in Emotional Video
Newslens NG reports that Veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is battling stage four cancer, with his family appealing to Nigerians and medical professionals for urgent assistance.
The development came to public attention after two of the actor’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, shared emotional videos on social media on Monday, August 17, seeking help in finding appropriate medical care for their father.
According to the family, the actor’s condition was discovered about three weeks ago and has reportedly deteriorated significantly. They said some hospitals treating him have indicated that they can no longer continue with chemotherapy.
Kira, in one of the videos, disclosed that her father had been diagnosed with stage four cancer and appealed to individuals, hospitals and cancer specialists who may be able to provide further treatment options.
She stressed that the family was not seeking financial donations, but rather assistance in finding a medical facility or specialist willing to take on Ogogo’s case.
Lima, another daughter of the actor, also made a tearful appeal, saying the family was willing to explore available treatment options and pleading with anyone with relevant medical connections to come forward.
The family also acknowledged the support of Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Senator Yayi, who they said had been assisting with the actor’s medical bills.
Ogogo, 66, is a veteran figure in the Yoruba film industry and has built a career spanning several decades. His health situation has since generated an outpouring of prayers and goodwill messages from fans, colleagues and members of the public.
The family continues to appeal for credible medical assistance and treatment options as they seek to secure further care for the veteran actor.
