ONDO2023: Tsunami Hits PDP As APC’s Suleiman Muritala Sweeps Votes, Wins House of Assembly Seat in Akoko S/E Constituency

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday declared Suleiman Muritala Babatunde of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of House of Assembly seat in Akoko South East, Ondo State.

Newslensng.com reports that the Governorship and House of Assembly elections were held nationwide in Nigeria on Saturday.

The Returning Officer for Akoko South East, declared the results at about 8pm at the INEC Collation Centre in Information center Isua Akoko.

In his words, he said that Mr Suleiman Muritala secured 7, 930 votes to beat his closest opponent Ojo Victor of the People Democratic Party, who got 4,853 votes.

“Suleiman Muritala of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” he said.

It was gathered that, a total number of 18 political parties contested for the House of Assembly Seat in Akoko South East Constituency.
Newslens understands that Suleiman Muritala popularly Known as ‘Young Alhaji’ is well known for his philanthropic gestures and his love for teeming youths in the Constituency.

Aside these unending list of good gestures. Young Alhaji is much trusted by the people and coupled with the fact that he is very young, handsome and vibrant politician made him edge over other politicians who many refer to as old cargos and outdated politicians who have less to offer them.

The climax of the whole election on Saturday was when the returning officer announced Suleiman Muritala as winner of the concluded election. Joy of his supporters knew no bound as thousands trooped into the collation center to celebrate the very humble politician for his landslide victory.

The happy looking Young Alhaji shook hands with majority of his supporters and specially thanked them for their unalloyed and unflinching support as they ensured he clinched the much awaited house assembly seat he has been dreaming of.
