BREAKING: Three Yoruba monarchs die in ghastly auto crash along Ogbomoso expressway

Three paramount rulers on Friday lost their lives in a road crash at the Arinkinkin area of Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The Obas were said to be on their way to the burial ceremony of the mother of another traditional ruler, Oloolo of Oolo, Oba Oyebunmi Ajayi, when the unfortunate accident occurred.

The three deceased Obas from Oriire local government area were; Olodogbo of Odogbo, Onibowula of Bowula, and Alayetoro of Ayetoro

Two of the monarchs reportedly died on the spot while the third one died few hours later at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

While confirming the road crash, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Joshua Adekanye, said it was a head-on collision involving a private and commercial vehicles along Ogbomoso-Oyo expressway.

He said the survivors are undergoing treatment at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital while the corpse of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the same hospital.
