Grealish breaks Lampard’s 15-year Champions League record
The England international made some history in the Champions League with Manchester City.
Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has whizzed past Frank Lampard’s 15-year record to become the leading English player with the most chances created in a single Champions League season.

Lampard’s record had stood since 2007/08. The current Chelsea interim manager made 34 chances for the Blues back then as a midfielder. But Grealish has clinched it with an impressive performance in Manchester City’s 4-0 win over Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday.
The former Aston Villa captain improved his total to 35 chances created this term and has the chance to extend his tally even further when City take on Inter Milan in the Champions League final on June 10.
‘We felt unstoppable’
Speaking to BT Sport after City’s 4-0 demolition of Real Madrid at the Etihad, Grealish said: “I am just buzzing to be in this moment. It’s so nice. I don’t think a lot of teams would be able to do that against Real Madrid. We felt unstoppable. I don’t know what it is.
“I saw a stat the other day about our record here in the Champions League, we have won every game here in the competition – it’s unbelievable.
“We feel unstoppable this season and nobody can beat us: when you see what we did tonight, and against Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, it’s unbelievable
