Nigerian content creator, Moses Omoghena took to his Facebook page on Monday, 18th October,2021, to advice Nigerians on how to choose mentors or icons.

Before you adopt an icon or a mentor do you ever ask yourself: “what are the values that drives this person and there success?” Mr Omoghena asked.

He further adviced:
“Dear Nigerians most of the celebrities you idolize, obsess & worship; when you take time to evaluate & access their lives, you’ll come to realize that you lead even better lives in every ramifications than they do.
Yes no one is perfect but even imperfection requires standards.

“When you realize the dirty unapologetic lives some of your social media “icons” live, perhaps you’ll give yourself a pat in the back. Unfortunately we live in an age were maggots can be rebranded as noodles & rotten bones rebranded as cookies.

“Your astute grandmother; your ever hardworking parents; your polite & kind school teachers; your fervent & loyal childhood friends; your committed & supportive partner; your brilliant value driven colleagues are the real iconic heroes around you that you overlook every single day.

He added “just because someone is RICH & FAMOUS doesn’t mean that they deserve your admiration.
“Before you adopt an icon or mentor, do you ask yourself: ” what are the values that drives the person & their success”.
