A coalition of Groups from the six states of the Niger Delta region have reached out to the husband of the lawmaker representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over her Thursday outburst against Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio during Senate plenary.
According to the groups, made up of Youth organisations, Women and Political groups, under the aegis of Niger Delta Renaissance, the “uncultured” and “shameful display to womanhood” by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is an insult to the people of the region and would not longer be tolerated.
The convener of the groups, High Chief Fidelis Akanah, at an emergency meeting held in Port Harcourt,Rivers State on Thursday, argued that the husband of Senator Natasha, who is also the Alema of Warri, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan should tender an unreserved apology to the Senate President,Godswill Akpabio, ” the display of the Wife and Senator showed a disgraceful and unreined display against the men folks in Kogi,Delta and the entire Niger Delta region.”
According to Akanah ” the utterances of Senator Natasha is expected. Natasha is a woman and a woman can not raise his voice against a respected political figure such as Sen. Akpabio. It is a taboo that a woman should have such impetus to disregard and insult a man not to talk of the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The members of the Niger Delta Renaissance also questioned the sources of her boldness, wondering wether it from the marine world or political. ” We are ready to support all efforts to put Senator Natasha to her place.”
High Chief Fidelis Akanah, also called on the Alema of Warri, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan to tender an unreserved apology to the Senate President and tame his wife,” if he does not call his wife to order,we would consider him a woman wrapper that is remotely controlled by a woman.”
Another female member of the group, Madam Eunice Olisah from Delta State, described the attitude and utterances of Senator Natasha against the Senate President,Godswill Akpabio is a sign of poorly cultured woman.
Madam Eunice Olisah said the outburst of Senator Natasha is uncalled for and that a proper character of a woman is not the beauty but what comes from her mouth in terms of presentation and character.
