Newslens NG reports that In a landmark judgement, Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has handed down a life sentence

to IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The court found him guilty on Counts 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 — all relating to terrorism-related offences. For Count 3, Justice Omotosho imposed a 20-year sentence without the option of a fine, and on Count 7, Kanu was sentenced to five years in prison.

This ruling follows the judge’s earlier conviction of Kanu on all seven charges filed by the Federal Government. The verdict marks one of the most significant legal outcomes in Nigeria’s recent history of prosecuting separatist agitation.
