Ballon d’Or holder Benzema joins Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad

Real Madrid’s star forward and recipient of the prestigious Ballon d’Or, Karim Benzema, has signed for Al-Ittihad.

According to a reliable source within Al-Ittihad, the Jeddah-based club, Benzema, has inked a three-year contract to join their ranks, commencing from the upcoming season.

Confirming the transfer, the source stated, “Benzema has committed to Al-Ittihad for the next three years, beginning from the forthcoming season,” AFP reports.

Karim Benzema’s ascent to football royalty was solidified on October 17th, 2022.

In recognition of his remarkable performances throughout the 2021/22 campaign, France Football honoured the Real Madrid captain with the coveted 2022 Ballon d’Or.

The French striker’s exceptional contributions were pivotal in Real Madrid’s triumphs, securing the European Cup, their 35th La Liga title, and the 12th Spanish Super Cup. With an impressive tally of 15, 27, and 2 goals, respectively, Benzema emerged as the leading scorer in each competition.

Furthermore, he played a pivotal role in France’s victorious campaign in the Nations League, and his outstanding performances had already earned him the title of UEFA Best Men’s Player.
