JUST IN: Police Raid Auxillary’s Hideout in Oyo, Uncover Ammunitions and Charms
The Nigeria Police Force has conducted a raid on Diamond Hotel located in Alakia, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The target was the hideout of Mukaila Lamidi, also known as Auxiliary, the former chairman of the Park Management System (PMS) in Oyo State.
This newspaper learnt that during the raid, law enforcement officials discovered a cache of ammunition and charms.
According to a police source involved in the operation, Auxiliary escaped upon realising significant police presence at his hotel.
This development comes after Governor Seyi Makinde dissolved the Management of the Motor Park System in the state, including Auxiliary’s position, through his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi.
In response, members of the union expressed their discontent and even directed curses towards one of the governor’s aides, Otunba Seye Famojuro, in a viral video on social media.
Aside from the ammunition and charms, the police also seized 474 bullets, a cutlass, and a substantial amount of cash from Auxiliary’s hideout.
The raid was conducted based on credible intelligence suggesting that Auxiliary had devised plans to instigate unrest in Ibadan, the state capital, on Wednesday, following the dissolution of his committee.
The Oyo State Government introduced the Park Management System in February as a means to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state.
