Wike’s Son Denies $2.1m Fraud Allegation, Court Orders Production of US Passport

The son of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, has denied allegations that he collected $2.1 million to facilitate the acquisition of land in Abuja.

The denial was made before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Maitama, Abuja, where proceedings continued in a civil suit filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited against Jordan.

The suit, marked CV/008/2026, centres on allegations that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.

According to the claimants, Jordan demanded $2.1 million as a facilitation fee, allegedly stating that $2 million was meant for his father, the FCT Minister, while $100,000 was for him.

They alleged that the money was handed over on September 26, 2025, in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani, while Jordan was accompanied by one Onor Sandy.

The claimants further alleged that after receiving the money, Jordan failed to facilitate the land acquisition or refund the funds and subsequently became unreachable.

However, Jordan, who was represented by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ogwu Onoja, denied the allegations and adopted his statement on oath during the resumed hearing.

During cross-examination by counsel to the claimants, Hamza Dantani, Jordan denied knowledge of several allegations and documents presented to him.

The court also granted an application directing Jordan to write his full name and signature five times each on a plain sheet of paper, apparently for comparison purposes.

A key issue arose when Jordan was asked where he was on September 26, 2025, the date the claimants alleged the money was delivered.

He told the court that he was outside Nigeria at the time and, when asked which passport he used to travel, said he travelled with his American passport.

Following the response, the claimants’ counsel applied for the passport to be produced before the court.

Justice Sylvanus Oriji granted the application and ordered Jordan to produce the American passport.

The court subsequently adjourned the matter until Wednesday for continuation of the hearing.

The court has not determined the allegations against Jordan, and the proceedings remain ongoing.
