The news of her passing was first announced by publisher and socialite, Otunba Femi Davies, through a post on his social media platforms, where he disclosed that the veteran entertainer died after a short illness.
Fondly called “Mama Yabis,” St. Janet was celebrated for her energetic live performances, unique blend of Juju and Highlife music, and fearless style of incorporating humour, satire, and candid social commentary into her songs.
