NCS confirms Attack On Correctional Facility in Oyo State

The Nigeria Correctional Service (NSC) has confirmed fresh attack on Abolongo Correctional Facility located in Oyo State where unknown number of Inmates were freed by unknown Gunmen

The recent security breach was announced by the Spokesman for the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) in the State, Olanrewaju Anjorin on Saturday.

Newslens gathered that the gunmen gained access to the facility using grenades on Friday evening at about 10pm but the number of inmates freed is yet to be known by the agency

During a telephone conversation, he said swift actions are being taken by the Agency to know the extent of damage on the facility

According to him “Yes. It has been confirmed that the attack actually happened.

“And right now, the comptroller of Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) and other top officers are assessing the situation.

“But, I can confirm to you that the incident actually happened”. He said
