After the death of the current Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, the next Olubadan is known without controversy.

Unlike other towns in Yorubaland, Ibadan city is unique in royalty and selection of monarch.

Two lineages of Egbe Agba and Egbe Balogun are entitled to the throne, of which the Otun Olubadan, Osi Olubadan, Asipa Olubadan, Ekerin Olubadan, Ekarun Olubadan, Abese among other chiefs are entitle to the throne in hierarchical order.

Without mincing words, the next ten Olubadan is known through which the next in command to any current Olubadan will emerge.
