Fidelity Bank Donates Essential Items to Yaba Old People’s Home
As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Fidelity Bank Plc has donated food and essential supplies to the Old People’s Home in Yaba, Lagos. The initiative was carried out under the bank’s Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP) and led by the Nexus Inductees Class.
The FHHP is a staff-driven CSR platform through which Fidelity Bank employees identify critical needs within their communities, raise funds to address them, and receive matching contributions from the bank to implement the projects.
Speaking at the donation event, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Fidelity Bank Plc, reiterated the institution’s dedication to community development. He highlighted the bank’s belief in giving back to society, particularly to the elderly who have contributed to shaping generations.
“This donation is our way of honoring the invaluable contributions of our elders. Their sacrifices have raised exceptional individuals who have become our esteemed customers. Through this gesture, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting the dignity, care, and well-being of senior citizens,” he said.
Receiving the donation, the Director-in-Charge of the Old People’s Home, Mrs. Adetutu Ipaye, expressed gratitude on behalf of the residents. She emphasized the importance of such corporate interventions in sustaining the home and improving the lives of its elderly residents.
> “Fidelity Bank’s support is deeply appreciated. Initiatives like this play a crucial role in helping us fulfill our mission. We hope more organizations will emulate this gesture to ensure our elderly population continues to live in dignity,” she said.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Kamoru Adeyetu, also spoke emotionally about the visit.
“Your presence here today has lifted our spirits. Beyond the donations, your visit reminds us that we are not forgotten. We hope you will continue to visit and spend time with us,” he remarked.
