Dangote Refinery Commends Tinubu, Security Chiefs, Ministers for Averting PENGASSAN Disruption

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his timely and decisive intervention in averting what it described as “the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN” against the company.

In a statement issued by the company, Dangote Refinery commended the President’s exemplary leadership and the coordinated efforts of key government officials, which ensured the restoration of peace and stability in the nation’s energy sector at a critical time.

“Dangote Refinery is grateful to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his intervention through his Ministers and senior government officials, which led to the abatement of the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN against the Refinery,” the statement read.

According to the company, the swift response of Nigeria’s Security Chiefs—led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu—was instrumental in restoring normalcy. Others acknowledged for their roles include the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Adeola Toyin Ajayi, and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mr. Mohammed Mohammed.

Dangote Refinery also lauded the efforts of other senior government officials who, according to the statement, worked “tirelessly and with remarkable patriotism into the early hours of several nights” to prevent a breakdown in the energy sector. These include the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mohammed Dingyadi; the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; the Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu; and the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.

“We remain deeply grateful to these officials for their patriotism, national service, and steadfast commitment to the preservation of industrial harmony,” the company added.

Dangote Refinery extended heartfelt gratitude to Nigerians for their overwhelming support throughout the period of industrial tension.

“To Nigerians of all walks of life, we owe you more than a debt of gratitude. Your words of encouragement and solidarity strengthened us. You reminded us of the resilience and unity that define our great nation. Rest assured, we will continue to act in your best interest—protecting national progress from rent seekers, economic saboteurs, and agents of disruption.”

The company also commended its workforce for their loyalty, dedication, and professionalism in ensuring uninterrupted operations despite external pressures.

“To our loyal employees who stood firm and ensured zero disruption to our operations, we say thank you. You exemplified the Dangote spirit, commitment, discipline, and patriotism. Be assured that your loyalty and service will continue to be recognized and rewarded.”

“We deeply appreciate the Nigerian judiciary for standing firm in defence of truth and justice, even in the face of provocation and disregard for lawful processes by certain actors. Their courage reaffirmed the judiciary as the last hope of the common man and a true guardian of democratic order.”
