BREAKING: Tinubu Approves Fresh Salary Increase for Armed Forces Personnel

Newslens NG reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh upward review of salaries for personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria as part of his administration’s efforts to improve troop welfare and strengthen national security.

The announcement comes amid renewed efforts by the Federal Government to boost the morale of military personnel and enhance their operational effectiveness in tackling the country’s security challenges. Newslens NG gathered that the salary adjustment is expected to benefit officers and soldiers across the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, and Nigerian Air Force.

President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of military personnel, acknowledging the sacrifices they make in defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting citizens from insecurity. He also pledged sustained investment in military infrastructure, modern equipment, housing, healthcare, and other welfare initiatives for serving and retired personnel.

Newslens NG understands that the latest salary increase forms part of broader reforms aimed at strengthening the Armed Forces, improving troop motivation, and enhancing the country’s overall security architecture. The Federal Government has also approved the expansion of the Nigerian Army, additional recruitment, and increased investment in military equipment and operational readiness.

The President commended members of the Armed Forces for their professionalism, courage, and resilience in confronting terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, insurgency, and other security threats across the country. He assured them that the Federal Government would continue to provide the necessary support to enable them to discharge their constitutional responsibilities effectively.

With the latest salary review, Newslens NG reports that the Tinubu administration hopes to improve troop welfare, strengthen morale, and reinforce the operational capacity of the Armed Forces in addressing Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
