However, when the suspect was paraded, he confessed to the crime while speaking to newsmen and noted that after he has scammed the lady of over $1000, he took the further step of asking her to come down to Nigeria, of which she agreed and the next day she boarded a flight to Nigeria and arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, in Lagos, after which she flew into Ilorin the next day and he went to meet her. While confessing he said, “I duped the American lady of $1000, then invited her to Nigeria so that I can scam her more.”

After that, the suspect revealed that he lodged her at an hotel along Flower Garden Road, Ilorin and that was where they’ve been staying before his arrest. He further alleged to have still received more money from her after she spent about three days in Nigeria.
