FG To Rescue Nigerians Stranded In Sudan
In response to a request for evacuation from Sudan made by Nigerian students there, the Federal Government has stated that it is consulting and making necessary arrangements as regards the students request.
According to Newslensng, there is presently enmity in the nation between the Sudanese Army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
This was said in a statement released on Thursday by Gabriel Odu on behalf of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission’s Media, Public Relations, and Protocols Unit.
Odu stated that the Nigerian mission in Sudan as well as other pertinent agencies were being consulted by NiDCOM, along with the “National Emergency Management Agency, which is responsible for emergency evacuations.”
He said the Chairman/CEO, NiDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, “urged all Nigerian students in Sudan as well as Nigerians living in Sudan to be security conscious and calm”.
