In a statement obtained by Newslens NG, the Police Command clarified that the origin and authenticity of the purported letter remain unverified. However, the gravity of the report has prompted swift and strategic action from security operatives to safeguard the public.

To this end, the Commissioner of Police has directed a substantial deployment of officers and operational assets to churches and mosques across the state, especially during worship periods. Surveillance and patrol operations have also been ramped up to deter any potential threats and reassure residents of their safety.

The Command cautioned against the spread of unverified or sensational information, warning that fake news could incite panic and jeopardize existing security efforts.

“We urge media outlets and the public to refrain from circulating unfounded claims that may trigger unnecessary fear or disrupt public order,” the statement read.

The Ondo State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment—alongside other security agencies—to maintaining law and order and protecting the lives and property of all citizens.
