Kris Martins Obiaje, the former Editor of Stockswatch Newspaper has bagged a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Mass Communication from the prestigious Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State.

Speaking with Journalists after the ceremony, the former Editor said the need to improve his horizon and impact positivity on the society informed his decision to pursue the degree.

Meanwhile, Obiaje is a media consultant, socio-political policy developer and university teacher. He was a former editor of Nigeria’s foremost business newspaper, Stockswatch. Kris has also been involved with leading political actors in the Nigerian political sphere as media consultant, where he develops integrated press activities that are managed across media platforms.

He is Faculty Member of the Social Sciences, Department of Mass Communication, Redeemer’s University, Nigeria. Kris has had stint in virtually every aspects of Mass Communication, from advertising, broadcast, marketing communication, public relations to journalism.

Prior to obtaining a doctoral degree in Media and Communication Studies, Kris had obtained a B.Sc in Mass Communication, a postgraduate diploma in Dramatic Arts and an M.Sc in Mass Communication. His research interest includes media audience, media theories, advertising and print & digital journalism. He describes himself as a journalist, teacher and craftsman.
