FCCPC delists 37 illegal loan apps

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has disclosed that the number of delisted lending apps increased from nine to 37.
The number of fully authorized loan applications increased to 164 from 154, according to the most recent data collected.

The number of loan applications with conditional clearance fell from 40 to 38, while the number of applications on the commission’s watchlist increased from 20 to 56.

The FCCPC has been shaking up the digital money lending market for some time now, after harassment of Nigerians by lenders.

Google permanently removed delisted lending apps from the Play Store, the commission said.

It stated that among the delisted apps were “Swiftkash App, Hen Credit Loan App, Cash Door App, Joy Cash-Loan Up To 1,000,000 App, Eaglecash App, Luckyloan Personal Loan App, Getloan App, Easeloan Apps, Naira Naija, Cashlawn App, Easynaira App, Crediting App, Yoyi App, Nut Loan App, Cashpal App, and Nairaeasy Gist Loan App.

“Cashme, Secucash, Creditbox, Cashmama, Crimson Credit, Galaxy Credit, Ease Cash, Xcredit, Imoney, Naira Naija, Imoneyplus-Instant, Nairanaija-Instant, Nownowmoney, Naija Cash, Eagle Cash, Firstnell App, Flypay, and Spark Credit.”
