The presidential aspiration of All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu got a boost on the home front yesterday.

Party loyalists from his Ikeja Federal Constituency, led by House of Representatives member James Faleke, trooped to the Blue Roof at the LTV8 premises where interdenominational prayers were held for the one-time Lagos State helmsman.

The prayer session came barely 72 hours after Tinubu informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to take a shot at presidency.

They were conducted by the Ikeja chapter of the League of Imams and Alfas, led by Imam Abdul Azeez Abdur Rahman and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), led by Reverend Israel Oyebanji.

Both clerics described the aspirant as a detribalised politician and not a religious bigot whose aspiration deserves all the support.

“We pray to Almighty God to make Asiwaju Tinubu’s presidential ambition a dream come true. He is a humble man whose generosity knows no bound. He helps and supports people irrespective of their status, religion, age or tribe, they said in their messages.

Faleke explained that the prayer was organised to put God first on Tinubu’s bid to lead the country.

The lawmaker said: “Our leader has spoken and we are happy that he has declared his intention to run. We have to put God first in this struggle because we believe that with God, all things are possible.”

Faleke said there is no controversy in Tinubu’s capacity to lift Nigeria to loftier heights in the comity of nations

Gospel singer Yinka Ayefele and Islamic singer, Sauty Arewa added flavor to the prayer session with performances that electrified participants at the packed hall.
